The marathon, half marathon or 10k is just one part of your adventure with us in Uganda. During this adventure, and especially the night before race day, where you sleep is important. So we have searched high (literally) and low to find accommodation to suit everybody's tastes.

From the utter luxury of Kyaninga Lodge to fancy camping. Each option offers something a little different. What they have in common is that they are all clean as a whistle, en suite (except the camping which has a shared bathroom), run by friendly teams of staff and have wif-fi and well stocked bars.

Running the Rift Marathon takes place near to the Ugandan town of Fort Portal and all the accommodation is in this area. Read about the three options below and see what tickles your fancy...

Kyaninga Lodge

Kyaninga Lodge is our most swish option (maybe even Uganda's most swish option - it is faaancy).

Made up of 9 luxury thatched cottages plus a central HQ cottage where the merriment happens. The lodge took 6 years to build by hand with each cottage rising from a wooden walkway.

The lodge overlooks Kyaninga Lake and the Rwenzori Mountains, and each cottage has a huge balcony to enjoy the stunning views from. You might have to share this with the odd monkey.

Kyaninga Lodge's HQ cottage boasts a dining room and bar / lounge area with an open fire. Mezzanine seating areas make the most of the views as does the multitude of terraces with sun-beds and...yeah, a pool.

You must be bored of all this luxury but we'll quickly mention there's also a tennis court, badminton court and boules lawn. OK now we're done, we will let the pictures speak for themselves...

Kalya Court Hotel *SOLD OUT for 2016*

Close proximity to town, a big bar, gardens you want to hang out in and a campsite hosting the very cool medics, makes Kalya the liveliest option.

The team of brilliant medics we've got joining us from the UK will be staying here too so there will always be people around and fun to get involved in.

We're very happy to have Kalya as one of our options. The immaculate gardens are full of places to sit, relax, chat, soak up some sun and drink some beers or G&Ts from the well-stocked bar. The rooms (including singles) are en suite, bright and the beds are the kind of comfort you'll be needing before and after a rather long run.

Rwenzori View Guest House

Rwenzori View Guest House delivers on the view and offers a comfortable place to lay your head while being close to town.

This option is closer to Fort Portal town centre and also has a lively local market close by so if more independence is your thing, you've found it here. You'll have a private terrace overlooking the big garden so relaxing is mandatory we're afraid.

For those of you looking for a bargain (so you can spend the rest of your cash visiting gorillas - you know you want to) we proudly present Rwenzori View Guest House.
